Do you remember when the Covid lockdown happened? Do you remember when the Covid lockdown happened? It didn’t seem so bad at first, but being confined to a small space or what we define as “small space” drove us nuts, right? Now, imagine a dog in an even smaller space with its bed, water bowl, and waiting 4/5 hours to go outside to stretch and use the restroom. Sometimes they jump up and down when they see someone to get their attention smearing excrements EVERYWHERE. The window of the kennel door, the metal part of the suite/kennel, walls, bed, floor… possibly the dogs paws or they roll in it. The smell…. You get the visual? It’s also not healthy for him/her if they get it all over themselves, and it could make them sick, because what if they don’t get a bath? Because they don’t. There are your volunteers that wear the shirt and volunteers who sacrifice as often 5 hours a day, 7 days a week just so these animals can have normalcy, and experience a feeling that might have been so foreign they never felt before such as love and attention. Sometimes there are NO VOLUNTEERS, so many of these pups or cats sit alone, scared and no way to release their energy, and be a dog. In a world where a feel good moment goes viral and inspires others to feel the same compassion. Help this plea for fellow humans to volunteer at their local or city shelter, because without us humans, these animals go unnoticed, forgotten and often euthanized. Challenge yourself and others to help at least two hours every week for 3 months and see how much you learn from an animal you probably couldn’t live without after those 3 months. Make this challenge go viral, because without volunteers help, these animals stand no chance.
